This is my third year of teaching visual art at The Montessori Community School of Charleston, and year number twelve of teaching art. I love the enthusiasm my students at MCSC have for art. Every day, young artists delight me with their ideas and talents. It's such a joy coming to "work"!
I've taught all grade levels from preschoolers to high school students. I began teaching in Warren,Ohio, and I've worked in schools in Myrtle Beach, Lexington,SC and now Charleston.
I earned a BFA from Bowling Green State University in Ohio where I specialized in painting and received a dual degree in education through the College of Arts and Sciences. I've taken numerous courses in technology, writing, and painting and enjoy the challenge and stimulation of learning among other professionals.
Happily married for 25 years, I'm the proud mother of four children, 3 sons and a daughter. One son is working, another is at the College of Charleston, and my third is at Francis Marion University. My daughter's a sophomore at Academic Magnet HS. I come from a large family- six brothers and a sister-and enjoy every opportunity I have to spend time with my siblings.
In my "free" time, I'm devoted to making art. I invite you to visit both my personal website: Judymcsween.com and my Etsy shop "MyBrilliantBrush"to see my work.
